SERVICES

Dianna Scimeca received her BA in Psychology at York University and her Masters in Psychology at University of Nevada Reno. Dianna is Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) and a member of the Ontario Association of Behaviour Analysis (ONTABA). Dianna works with children and adolescents and offers parent training. She also provides Psychoeducational Assessment for learning disorders, developmental disabilities, autism, and gifted testing. Dianna is in the process of registering with the College of Psychologists of Ontario as Psychological Associate. Her clinical work with children and adolescents at Markham Psychologists is supervised by Dr. Queenie Lo, C.Psych.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

She has significant experience providing consultations and treatment to children and adolescents with ASD and other behavioural concerns using principle of Behavioural Analysis. She also has experience working with a variety of concerns such as stress, self-regulation, anger management, anxiety, depression, emotional issues, and parent training. She has worked within the school settings, community-based outpatient clinics, and private clinics. She was also Teaching Instructor at Seneca College in the area of Autism and Behavioural Science. She has been with the Psychology Department at Durham District School Board as Psychometrist since 2013, providing psychoeducational assessments under supervision of Psychologists.

APPROACH

Dianna uses a client-centered and strengths-based approach to her treatment, drawing from a variety of modalities including Applied Behaviour Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness. Dianna strives to tailor treatment to the individuals needs, and abilities with a culturally sensitive approach.

Dianna offers appointments on Tuesday (virtual), Wednesday, Thursday in the evening and Saturday.
